Notice is given of the OCIES AGM 2020 to be held on line at 14.00 NZ time on 1st July 2020.

All financial members are encouraged to attend and participate. A link and password will be sent by email nearer the time.

In order for the AGM to run smoothly within a reasonable time period, a number of administrative matters require prior attention. This notice calls for nominations for post holders on the Executive Committee, and calls for reports and other items for the AGM agenda.

  1. Nominations for Executive Committee Members

The OCIES governance structure has provision for General Committee members and Executive Committee members (post holders). Election of General Committee members will take place at or after the AGM. There are vacancies on the General Committee. Appointment of Executive Committee members for the period 2020-2022 will take place prior to the AGM.

  1. Professor Zane Diamond has indicated that she will step down from the role of Co-President. This creates a vacancy.
  • The following post holders have indicated willingness to continue in post:

Associate Professor Kabini Sanga – Co-president

Dr Miriam Han – Treasurer

Wendy Choo – Communications

Dr Martyn Reynolds – Secretary

             However, members can nominate alternative candidates to contest the posts.

All current financial members of OCIES can nominate and vote for candidates. Candidates must be current financial members of OCIES and can be located anywhere, but must have regular access to the internet. Nominations should state the relevant post(s), a short candidate bio, and the names and emails of two (2) seconders who must be also be OCIES financial members. Nominations must reach the OCIES secretary by 12 Noon NZST on 29 May at: Should a vote be necessary, this will be held shortly after. Post-holder job descriptions can be found here.
