2021 OCIES Conference – Call for Abstracts

Call for Abstracts

Please note that you will be required to select the type of session or presentation that you wish to share in and/or organise.

For Workshop, Panel/ Symposium, Creative arts, Tok Stori, Talanoa and other discussion sessions, you will be expected to organise your contributors and facilitate/moderate the session. If you selected Workshop, Panel/ Symposium, Creative Arts or Tok Stori/ Talanoa session above, you will be asked to indicate your preference for session duration (60min/90min/120min)

For Individual presentations (15 min) and Emerging research presentations, we will organise and facilitate the sessions. Assistance with Zoom technology will be available.

Multiple speakers/facilitators

If your session involves other speakers/facilitators, please be ready to provide their names, Institutional affiliations, and country location.

Length of abstract

Please be ready to provide an abstract of up to 250 words describing what your presentation/ session is about.

Intended form of participation

Please note that this is a hybrid conference – most sessions will be available online and we will also have people attending sessions in person at the Tauranga Campus of University of Waikato and Melbourne University hubs (subject to any covid restrictions in place at the time). We appreciate your plans may change between now and the conference, but please be ready to indicate how you intend to participate in the conference, whether in person at the Tauranga Campus of University of Waikato, in person at the Parkville campus of University of Melbourne or online.

Please be ready to indicate your preferred times for presentation. We will do our best to schedule sessions at a time that matches your preferences, however, we cannot guarantee to do so. The options are:

1. Thursday 2nd December between 9am – 12noon NZT & FJT / 7am – 10am AEDT
2. Thursday 2nd December between 1pm – 5pm NZT & FJT / 11am – 3pm AEDT
3. Friday 3rd December between 9am – 12noon NZT & FJT / 7am – 10am AEDT
4. Friday 3rd December between 1pm – 5pm NZT & FJT / 11am – 3pm AEDT
